Sainsbury's Magazine, August issue featured our new shop on The Lizard peninsula. Our Barefoot ocean-side B&B at Halzephron House was also mentioned, big thanks to travel editor Francesca Syz.

Send the kids out in the garden to pick some lavender and make these delicious biscuits together.

150g butter
90g caster sugar
225g plain flour
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon chopped lavender leaves
a handful of lavender flowers (removed from the spike)

Cream the butter and sugar, add flour, egg yolk, lavender leaves, mix well.
Knead the mixture by hand on a floured surface into a smooth ball.
Roll the ball into a sausage (8-10 cm diameter)
Slice the sausage into biscuit sections, lay them flat on a baking tray, press lavender flowers into the top of each biscuit.
Bake for approx 15 mins until golden but not brown.
Cool on the tray for 5 mins before moving or they will crumble.

Vision Round Britain, a three week expedition sets sail today.
Our good friend Laura is part of the crew of 8 women sailing around the coast of Britain on a Catamaran, to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Vision Project, an initiative of the Cornwall Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC).
We had a sneaky look around their boat on Friday and noticed a stash of knitting needles and wool?!

Jem Wallis winner of the Barefoot belly board donated by Barefoot for the raffle prize, helped to raise a total of £450 at the Gunwalloe Surf Life Saving Club beach barbeque at the weekend. All money raised will go towards buying nipper boards for the club. Thanks to everyone who came along!

This is simply the best recipe for homemade lemonade we have ever tried.
Ingredients:
1 cup of lemon juice
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
a bottle of sparkling mineral water
Method:
1.Squeeze the juice from 4 to 6 lemons enough for 1 cup of juice.
2. make a simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is dissolved completely.
3. Add the juice and the syrup and refrigerate for approx 30 to 40 minutes.
4. Pour half a glass of lemon mixture and top up with sparkling mineral water, add some ice, enjoy!

Yesterday saw the fourth graduation ceremony for trainees at Fifteen Cornwall. Barefoot were asked by Fifteen to create twenty large platters out of solid oak for the ceremony.
